Happy Labor Day!
(Better late than never, right?)
I was lucky to have a four day weekend last week thanks to Labor Day as well as a special football tournament our school was participating in…. in Ireland! As a result of the tournament, a huge portion of our school was in Dublin for the weekend. The Varsity football team, Varsity Poms (my girls ♥), golf, cheer, staff, parents, and lots of alumni flew over. I’ve heard from everyone who went that they had a wonderful time. It’s clear just by looking through all of the fun pictures people have been posting to Facebook and Instagram. I was so proud of our football team and although I was unable to watch the game, I was following a constant twitter feed of the game and constantly refreshing the page on my phone. This was especially the case for the last five minutes of the game because it was so close! We may not have won, but our boys played really well and I’m so ridiculously proud of them for how hard they’ve been working and the amazing job they did in representing our school.
Here’s to a wonderful start to yet another amazing football season!
On Labor Day my mom and I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and go for a long walk by the lakefront. All the beaches were packed, there were people riding bikes and running everywhere, and lots of people were taking out boats to go sailing. The water was such a stunning aquamarine color and there were almost no clouds in the sky. Even though my summer technically ended in mid-August when school started up again, I couldn’t imagine a more gorgeous day to officially end such a wonderful senior summer!
