Today is one of the sweetest and most sugar-coated days of the year, Valentine’s Day!
Valentine’s Day is definitely a love/hate holiday for many people. Those of us who are in relationships tend to love it, but are also nervous about what to give to/what we will receive from our significant other. Meanwhile, those of us who are single either choose to go on and on (and on) about how it’s actually “singles awareness day” or simply do our best to ignore all the pink and red hearts, lace, and flowers all over the place.
Personally, I enjoy decking myself out in as much pink and red as possible while incorporating hearts into my uniform somehow. This year I’m sporting heart-shaped earrings! I also enjoy consuming plenty of pink frosting and candy conversation hearts throughout the day, naturally.
Regardless, Valentine’s Day is not just about acknowledging the love from one other person, it is about realizing and acknowledging just how much love is in our daily lives from so many different people. It’s not about the roses, cards, or candy although they are all wonderful additions. It is about reminding everyone just how much they mean to us and recognizing all the love we receive and have for others.
Be sure to remind someone today that they are loved!
