We all experience days that just don’t go our way. Maybe you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or someone said something rude to you that kept replaying in your head all day, or the traffic on your way to work was horrendous, or you’re stretched thin and stressed, etc, etc, etc.
On days like these, we are given a choice: 1. allow your day to be ruined and write it off as a bad day or 2. “adjust your sails.” Though the phrase may immediately come across as strictly relating to sailing, it certainly applies to life and its many, daily lessons. In situations like these, “adjust your sails” would mean to be flexible and roll with the punches. When life gives you something to frown about, find something to smile about. Approach each day with a flexible and open mind. If you make a point of being willing to adjust your position and mind, then you can get through any “stormy” day while standing tall with your head held high.
