This year in Chicago, we haven’t been experiencing the frigid winters that I’ve grown so used to from living in the area my whole life. There’s been much less in the way of snow and ice, but we’ve still gotten a good dose of wintry winds and the chilly temperatures have started to kick in. Now that we’ve passed the holidays, those temperatures have really decided to drop and I’ve been breaking out all of my favorite cozy scarves as well as my incredibly warm Land’s End parka!
One of the things that people who are non-bloggers don’t always think about is just how hard it is to take outfit of the day photos in the winter… outside… with natural light… (and without looking like you’re a popsicle.)
That being said, of course, I ended up planning to shoot during one of the coldest weekends we’ve had yet…. Whoops!
For today’s OOTD, we stopped by one of my favorite spots in the city, The Waldorf, to do a shoot in the courtyard and in front of their big tree! I absolutely love the Waldorf’s courtyard! It’s such a cute, posh nook in the Gold Coast of our constantly bustling city and it’s one of the calming spaces that I’ve been delighted to discover within the craziness that is downtown Chicago. Sometimes you just need a spot to duck into for a few seconds to slow down and gather yourself and this is certainly one of mine.
How’s your winter going?
