It’s been a while since I shared a Wisdom Wednesday post, so today I’m talking about one of my current, favorite quotes:
“& then I realized, adventures are the best way to learn”
I took this photo just a few weeks ago while driving into the city with my mom. (Don’t worry, I was behind the lens and she was behind the wheel!) When I looked through all my photos later that day, this one really stood out to me and I realized that it invoked the same feeling that I used to get as a little girl when we’d go downtown. The buildings standing majestically on the horizon, the rush of cars down Lake Shore Drive, the bustle of the city waiting for our arrival, and the upbeat sense of adventure and excitement that I would feel in my stomach.
Even after all these years and going downtown almost every day for class, I still get a tingling of that feeling as the skyline unfolds in front of me. That sight and feeling is always a highlight of my day!
I honestly haven’t had the greatest few weeks recently, which is part of why I haven’t been posting quite as much as I’d like. Even though I’ve been really busy and pretty stressed, in an odd way, I’m actually really grateful for these times…
Now, before you call me crazy, hear me out.
I’ve found that time and time again, negative and/or difficult situations have a tendency to push me into a sunny disposition and force me to see silver linings in any situation. Difficult days, changes, and situations can really turn into adventures of you give them a chance!
I want to look at life more as an adventure, because as the quote says,
I’ve realized that they’re one of the best ways to learn.
