Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
The North Side of Chicago usually celebrates St. Paddy’s Day the Saturday after the holiday by dyeing the Chicago River bright green and holding a parade. However, this year we celebrated the weekend before!
For those of you who have never experienced Chicago on St. Patrick’s Day weekend, I thought I’d share some pictures from when my friends and I celebrated last weekend.
This was the first year that I was actually able to celebrate downtown with everyone during the day. Last year I was working, the year before I was in NYC for Teen Vogue Fashion U, and the year before I had a prior commitment. Some of my friends would celebrate during high school, but that was never really my thing.
I headed downtown with my friends Alex, Ola and Pat for the first half of the day and then I met up with more friends later on. It was an incredibly long day, but it was such a blast! I’m actually 25% Irish, so I had a a fantastic time embracing my freckles and celebrating being Ch-Irish (Chicago Irish).

Regardless of if you’re Irish or not, I hope you have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!
