Happy Wednesday, lovelies! Now that I’m post-grad, I’m working full time, but I still have “off” days which become the days that I end up doing the majority of my blog work, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family. For today’s post, I’m going to walk you through an average “off” day for me.
The first thing I do every morning when I wake up is check my social channels. I’ll also flip through all my inboxes and take note of any important emails that I need to respond to.
Next, I’ll eat a quick breakfast, get dressed and prep to head out for my day. I like trying to leave my apartment to get work done because I usually end up being more productive if I’m in a different space. If it’s a shoot day, then I’ll take a bit of extra time to get ready and pack any camera equipment or other outfits. After all this is taken care of, I’ll typically head downtown or to a nearby suburb to shoot and get work done.
I love working outside when the weather is nicer, so if I can find a space outside to get work done then I’m all for that. I’m definitely a bit of a coffee addict, so I’ll also make sure to have some kind of caffeinated drink by my side while I’m working to keep myself energized. Recently I’ve been loving Dunkin’s Frozen Coffee. It’s light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet for my sweet tooth.
When it comes to the blog, “work” ends up including writing content, editing pictures, responding to emails, signing contracts, doing social planning, and more. Sometimes on these days I’ll also have blog events to attend or calls related to upcoming posts and content. There’s lots that goes on behind the scenes to keep Bowtiful Life running smoothly, so I’ve pretty much always got something that I can do for the blog whenever I have free time and days off.
After getting some solitary work done, if it’s a shoot day, then I’ll meet up with whoever I’m taking photos with for the day. Spots with natural light are key for strong and sharp photos so location is key. If I’m not actively shooting that day, I’ll end up scouting other locations to shoot at in the future as I go and run whatever random errands are my to do list for the day. I’m a big fan of areas that have a mixture of natural foliage and pretty architecture while still having a city edge to them. They make for some of the prettiest pictures.
Lunch and dinner both get squeezed into my day somewhere too. I especially love meeting up with friends for dinner because it’s typically a longer, more relaxed meal and it’s easier to have longer and more in depth conversations. Grabbing dinner is one of my favorite ways to catch up with friends I haven’t seen in a while.
After a long day, I’m ready to head back to my apartment, hang with my roommates, check my email again, watch some Netflix, get ready for bed, and then get ready to do it all over again the next day!
