Almost every fashionista has one staple basic in common in their closet no matter what sort of style they have. Some are “boho chic”, others are classified as “preppy,” where as some have a slightly “grungy” yet city edge to them. The classic little black dress (lbd) is a well-known staple in any wardrobe and is the perfect piece to transition from day to night.
What I Wore
Black Ruffle Sleeve Dress – Slate Statement Necklace – Dainty Pave Necklace – David Yurman Bracelet – Drusy Studs & Ring – Gold Pave Bracelet – Louis Vuitton Neverfull – Platinum Sandals
This cute little black shift dress from Zara has fun ruffled sleeves, a higher cut, round neck, and the perfect length to flirt between work and play. (I’ll admit, as a tall girl at 5′ 8″, it’s a touch short, but it still follows the fingertip rule I have ironed into my brain from my grade school and middle school years.) In my opinion, the “perfect” lbd should be three things…
versatile, comfortable, & easy to pack!
It’s incredibly important to own a versatile lbd that you can wear for both work and “after hours.” It’s basically killing two birds with one stone. Switching up anything from shoes, accessories, to even your lip color can transform any lbd from polished professional to party time.
I find comfort to be key with any item of clothing because if you feel good then you exude a level of confidence and comfort to anyone you meet. Being comfortable in what you wear gives you one less thing to worry about and an extra boost of confidence in whatever task you’re taking on.
Additionally, when it comes to wearability for a lifestyle on the go, knit fabrics are always great for travel because for the most part you can throw them on right out of your suitcase or carry-on and get moving right away. It’s simple, stress free, and that unwrinkled lbd keeps you looking classy as you walk into any situation.
