Happy Friday! Life has been absolutely crazy busy recently and it feels like the weeks have been passing faster and faster. I’m still amazed that we’re already almost a full week into October! It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday Five post and I have a few fun things to share with all of you, so here we go!
1. New Site Design & Logo!
As some of you have already noticed, a brand new Bowtiful Life site and logo launched yesterday! I am so incredibly excited about the new layout for the blog because it looks so much cleaner and I thought it was time for a bit of a visual update. There are still a few minor kinks in the coding and such that I’m working out, so bear with me as I go through and fix those.
Fun fact: Throughout the time that I’ve been blogging, I’ve done absolutely all of the coding and design modifications for Bowtiful Life by myself! I even transferred my site over from Blogger to WordPress on my own back in college. (Now THAT was a stressful process.) I have purchased my basic site themes through developers and blog designers, but I’ve applied all the modifications and done the rest of the coding myself which has been such a rewarding and educational experience for me.
As for the logo, Bowtiful Life has has the same logo ever since I launched in January of 2012 (almost six years ago!!!) The color changed slightly a few times over the years, but for this revamp I completely redesigned and sketched the logo myself, giving my previous bow icon a bit of a refresh.
2. Logo Design
I’ve always loved all kinds of art, especially graphic design, and I actually minored in art at Loyola. That being said, I’m looking forward to designing more custom logos and graphics! I’m currently working a new logo for one of my blogger friends, so if you or a friend are looking to do a logo revamp feel free to shoot me an email!
3. Treasure & Bond x Something Navy at Nordstrom
Last week I had the pleasure of celebrating the launch of Arielle Charnas’s Treasure and Bond capsule collection with her and some of my fellow Chicago-based blogger babes at Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue! I’m absolutely in love with the collection she put together and I ended up purchasing two items. As y’all know, I love a good sweater or cardigan, so I snagged this crewneck and this fun belted cardigan. The collection has been selling out like crazy, but Nordstrom has been restocking as they can, so if you’re looking for a particular item keep checking back! I didn’t think I’d be able to get my hands on the cardigan, but I found it in stock this morning in my size! I’ve linked some of my other favorite Treaure & Bond x Something Navy pieces below.
4. Poshfest
If you follow me on Instagram then you saw my pictures and Insta stories from Poshfest last weekend! RXBAR, one of the Poshfest sponsors, was incredibly generous and hosted me for the conference and I got to meet so many awesome people! I learned a lot about Poshmark and I’m going to be uploading a lot more items to my closet within the next few weeks. (Make sure you’re following my closet so you can see when all the new items go up!) I’ll also be sharing my looks from Poshfest on the blog soon, so keep an eye out for those!
5. #BowtifulTravels Update – Off to Banff!
I am incredibly excited to be visiting Banff in Alberta, Canada later this month! I had some days off for the year left over at work so I’m headed there for a bit of a vacation in a few weeks! If any of you have ever visited Banff and have any recommendations for restaurants or “must see” spots I’d love to hear them!
