“Florals, for spring? Groundbreaking.” If any of you are fans of The Devil Wear’s Prada then you’ll probably recognize that quote. (If not, take a peek at the video at the bottom of this post, because you’re missing out!) It’s true that florals are typically much more popular during the springtime, however, that doesn’t mean you can’t rock them in other seasons!

Floral Cynthia Rowley Dress – Gold Arrow Choker – Tory Burch Flats – Emerald Earrings – Gunmetal Cocktail Ring – Mulberry Alexa Satchel – Hematite Pave Bracelet
I love darker toned floral pieces, like this mixed-media Cynthia Rowley dress, for the fall months because they act as the perfect transition between seasons. The contrast between the dark background and the delicate floral details in addition to the ruffles and detailed mesh make this piece soft and girly while still being seasonally appropriate. The tiered ruffle sleeves on this dress are probably my favorite part. They almost feel like wings as they catch the breeze when you’re walking!
I mixed in some edgier details with this dress like this gunmetal and black drusy ring from Kendra Scott. Not too long ago, I would never have thought that I could pull this ring off, but ever since I got it it’s become one of my go-to pieces for when I’m going out on the town with friends, wearing darker outfits, or trying to add some edge to a softer look like this one.
Since there’s so much going on when to comes to details in this dress, I went simple when it came to shoes and put on this pair of leather ballet flats. I’ve had these Tory Burch flats since high school and while they’re not the most comfortable to wear for longer stretches of time, I love the shiny logo detail and the soft leather.
Another delicate, but slightly edgy detail that I added to this look was this arrow-inspired choker necklace. It’s adjustable, so you can wear it short as a choker, in the middle (like I’ve styled it), or on the longer side. It’s also available in rose gold and antique silver!
No outfit is complete without the perfect purse or clutch! I went with a loosely structured leather satchel with gold details for this look. My Mulberry Alexa bag is one of my favorite purses that I own, but unfortunately it’s no longer in production. I found it for sale second-hand and I’ve linked some similar options below.
