I’ve always loved the color pink, but as I’ve gotten older bubblegum pink doesn’t quite suit my taste anymore. My passion for pink got a bit of a refresh in high school when I fell in love with the color blush. That was some time around 2010 and ever since, I’ve been adding bits of blush to my closet almost every time I shop. Blush pink, specifically “rose quartz” was one of the Pantone colors of the year for 2016 and it’s still going strong!
– What I Wore –
C/MEO Collective Blush Moto Jacket – Ruffled Juicy Couture Tank (SO old, but here’s a similar style that’s on sale!) – Black Skinny Jeans – Kendra Scott Studs (Here’s a similar option from Kate Spade.) – Rose Quartz Necklace – Bangle Set & Rose Gold Crown Bracelet – Holly & Tanager Blush Clutch ℅ – “Ballerina Pink” Tieks Flats
“Blush.” Even just the word itself resonates with a certain softness. There are so many tones of blush, but since it’s a more neutral color they all end up blending together quite nicely! For this look, I started with a black base (the tank and jeans) and added on from there!
When I was picking out jewelry I went with rose gold because it has that same warmth and softness that blush offers. The necklace I’m wearing is actually a custom piece I designed in Kendra Scott’s Color Bar! (It’s the “Rayne” necklace in rose gold with rose quartz.)
From there, I paired my pink Holly & Tanager Companion Mini bag with the look. This bag is super cool because not only is it a clutch, it’s also a crossbody! I styled it with the strap in a look earlier this summer, so feel free to peek at that right here.
My favorite part of this look was this C/MEO Collective moto jacket! I always associate moto jackets with intense hardware, studded leather, and black, This jacket was the exact opposite and I love the fact that even though it’s a structured jacket, it still has some flow to it because the material is on the softer side. The double zip on the left side was a fun touch that added to this movement. I also loved the zip up sleeves. Sometimes you’ve just got to get your sleeves out of the way to do something and with most jackets that can be somewhat difficult. The zippers on this one completely got rid of that issue.
Last, but not least, I threw on my trusty Tiek flats! These things are seriously the most comfortable ballet flat I’ve ever encountered and I’ve had mine since high school. I used to wear these almost every day when I was working at J.Crew and they were perfect for being on-the-go and on my feet all day. (Retail life = really rough on your back and feet… Especially in the wrong shoes!) The other thing that’s great about these flats is that you can just fold them in half and throw them in your bag. They even come with a pouch for exactly that reason! I still carry these with me sometimes on days that I’m shooting outfits involving high heels. Obviously, I’m a big fan of the “ballerina pink” ones that I have, but they also come in a ton of other colors!
