Today’s post features on of the most underrated views we came across while in Banff. Welcome to Bow Lake! Naturally, I was already a sucker for the name, but on top of that, the view was to die for! We just drove pass this overlook while trying to make our way to Peyto Lake (which ended up not happening due to an out of the blue blizzard). We decided we had to stop and snap some photos on our way back and I’m so glad that we did!
– What I Wore –
Faux Shearling Vest (Almost identical style for under $100!) – Black Banana Republic Turtleneck – Dainty Necklace – Kendra Scott Earrings – Rose Gold Bracelets – Warby Parker Sunglasses – Hudson Jeans – Rose Gold & Opal Ring – Sorel Boots ℅
I felt very après-ski in this look, especially given the fact that I was absolutely surrounded by snow covered mountains. The thing I always forget about snowier locations is that even when it’s on the cloudier side the reflection of light against the snow makes everything so bright! My favorite Warby Parker sunglasses got plenty of wear during this trip.
Fun fact about this vest… I actually got this one on super duper sale at Forever 21 last year! I’m still so surprised by the quality of it and I’m so excited we’ve got the chillier months back again so I can wear it more this year! Forever 21 isn’t selling the same style anymore, but I’ve linked a few below that are a similar color and/or style!
When I was younger, in addition to my mom dressing me in flannel like I mentioned in my Lake Minnewanka blog post post, my mom also put me in turtlenecks fairly often. I had a turtleneck in almost every color at one point in my life, lots of prints too! Last year I ended up purchasing this black tissue weight turtleneck from Banana Republic and although it’s now the only one I own, it gets lots of love. It’s a great layering piece, especially when I need something on the simple side for an outfit.
I talked already about these SOREL boots in one of my posts about Lake Louise, but I meant what I said. These got the most wear, by far, out of all the shoes I brought with me for this trip!
To finish of the look, I added some simple pieces of gold and rose gold jewelry. I love how the warm caramel color of the vest helped the golden toned jewelry have an extra sort of lustre to it!
