Being a post-grad professional and also speaking as someone who was in a sorority, I’ve put together quite a few business casual looks in my life. When I was in Chi Omega I would wear business casual every Sunday for chapter. It was a requirement since we always had formal chapter. Recently, I put together this look for an influencer panel I spoke on at Loyola’s School of Communications!
– What I Wore –
Striped Opening Ceremony Dress – Tibi Cropped Moto Jacket (Similar style here.) – Black Mother of Pearl Earrings – Rose Gold and Moonstone Ring – ITEM m6 Tights ℅ – David Yurman Bracelet – Timex Watch ℅ – Mulberry Alexa Bag – Steve Madden Over-the-Knee Boots (Similar Marc Fisher style.) – Y Necklace (Similar style.)
As a freshman, my biggest struggle with business casual was making sure these professional looks still expressed my personal style. I wore a lot of classic J.Crew button-downs and dress pants my first few months in Chi O, but that really wasn’t “me.” As time went on, I observed what the older girls in my chapter wore on Sundays and I drew my inspiration from their looks while putting my own twist on them!
I’ve rounded up some of my current favorite business casual pieces for spring that are work-appropriate but still stylish! These are perfect for work, chapter, or any casual professional setting.
