Things have been a little bit quieter on here recently… I moved about a month ago and between balancing work with moving and life in general, I’m still settling in and setting up our new, fully post-grad apartment. For context, the last place that I lived was my senior year apartment. There were so many wonderful memories in that place from my senior year of college and my first year post-grad, but it was time to move to a new, more “adult” spot after my two years there.
Thank you so much for bearing with me as we’ve been getting situated into our new place! Life has been just a little bit crazier than usual between unpacking, dealing with internet outages and more, but things will be getting back to normal on here ASAP.
Our New Place
I consider myself incredibly lucky, because my roommate (Pri) and I found a great new place in one of our favorite neighborhoods! We’re so excited to be closer to the city and we can’t wait to finish decorating the place to make it feel like home! We both brought in plenty of furniture and decor from our old apartments, but we’re also bringing in some new pieces to elevate the apartment and take it to that next level decor-wise.
When it came to our living room, we already had the basics when it came to furniture, so it came down to getting pieces that elevated the room on an accessory level. We decided on this rug and we wanted some plants in our new space. My roommate and I are both crazy busy, so we were thinking about getting some artificial greenery. In the end, we got a (real) little fiddleleaf fig from IKEA. I’ll report back with maintenance tips (OR how long we’re able to keep it alive) once some more time has passed, but it was a great deal based on pricing I’ve seen.
For our bathroom, we decided to stick with a simple and cool-toned look. We got this shower curtain (It has pom poms on the bottom!), this white soap dispenser and some coordinating hand towels and a bathmat to tie the room together. All from Target! We also have some faux white peonies that we added to the bathroom for a fresh, finishing touch.
Below, I’ve pulled together some of the pieces that inspired the look for our new place. I can’t wait to share pictures of our apartment once we’re all settled in and have everything set up!
