Happy Friday, loves! I hope that you’ve all had a fantastic week. It’s time for a new edition of Friday Five, talking about what’s new with me as well as some things currently on my radar!
1. Long Cardigans for Spring
It’s “officially” been Spring since March 20th, but in Chicago, it really felt like spring arrived yesterday! We had temps in the high 50s/low 60s and I walked to lunch wearing only this long cardigan that I ordered last spring. It was the perfect layer for the early-Spring weather! I’ve linked some other great long cardigans below. I think that long cardigans are especially great for spring because they’re like an in-between option for if it’s a little too warm for a trench coat, but you still want some warmth and coverage on the lower part of your body.
2. TOMORROW: Spring Forward Event with Bowtiful Life & J. Crew!
I am SO excited to be working with J. Crew again to host a Spring Forward event at their Oakbrook store, and the event is taking place tomorrow! I’ve been talking about this on my Instagram stories for the while now, but I wanted to make sure that I dropped the RSVP link here too. You’ll get to shop their newest arrivals with 30% off of warm weather styles while enjoying sips and sweets. AND we’ll get to hang out and chat! I can’t wait to see some of you there!
3. WSJ Wine Club
My boyfriend, Jim, and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary and one of the things we did to celebrate was join Wall Street Journal’s wine Discovery Club! We just got the (50 lb.) box in the mail last week and can’t wait to try them all out! I’ll let you guys know if we come across any really great bottles within this batch.
4. Chicago Women in Business
Last night I attended the inaugural meeting of Chicago Women in Business which one of my coworkers (and good friends) coordinated! We’re going to be meeting monthly in the city to talk about being a women in corporate America and workplace settings in general. It was so nice to get together and connect with women in a variety of industries to discuss empowerment, the challenges we face, and celebrate our “wins.” Feel free to shoot me an email if you’re based in Chicago and would be interested in coming to one of our meetings in the future!
5. Note to Self
I’ve decided to end this post with this reminder. I came across this graphic last night on Pinterest after talking with a few different friends about what was going on in their lives at the moment. Honestly, I didn’t realize just how much I needed to see this until I stumbled across it. I’m in my early-mid 20’s and at this point in life, myself and close friends of mine are dealing with a lot. For some, it’s time management, others struggles with friendships, some it’s their romantic relationships, career is also a regular topic. Quite often, no matter the base topic, these conversations end up revolving around a general feeling of not being good enough. I think that everyone could use these reminders from time to time, so here you go!
Note to Self:
Your feelings are valid.
You are allowed to enforce your boundaries.
You do not need anyone else’s approval.
You are capable of amazing things.
You are enough.
I hope that you all have an incredible weekend! Until the next Friday Five…
