When it comes to makeup, I’m truly a creature of habit. I tend to grab the same products on the daily when I’m getting ready for work or for a day that I’m not shooting blog photos! That being said, I thought I ought to share some of my current everyday beauty favorites! The last time that I shared my makeup faves here on the blog was in 2013… So I thought it might be time for an update. (If you’re curious, you can check out that old blog post right here… Talk about a throwback!) I actually still use some of the products that I featured back then, just not on a daily basis.
I will say, I have lots of wonderful people in my life (shoutout to my blog friends and makeup-loving Aunt Mary) who introduce me to new beauty products that they’re loving! Fact of the matter is, when I find a product that I like and works well, I tend stick with it until I’m introduced to something better. I will switch some products up based on the time of the year, but most of my everyday products are tried and true for all four seasons.
Everyday Beauty Favorites
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara in “Blackest Black”
I love this mascara for my top lashes! I’ve been using this product for the last three years, ever since a coworker recommended it. It’s perfect for lengthening and fanning out lashes before adding a thicker mascara to increase volume.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I’ve always been a two mascara kinda gal. I use this one on top of my Butterfly base on my top lashes and then on my bottom lashes. I was first introduced to the Perversion line thanks to a press package and it’s since become one of my favorite “topper” mascaras!
Urban Decay Perversion Waterproof Fine-Point Eye Pen
When it comes to eyeliner, felt tip pens are my absolute favorite. They’re so much easier to use and draw lines and wings with! This eyeliner came in the same press package as the mascara mentioned above and I love how long it lasts! I’ve had the same pen for quite a bit and it still hasn’t dried out, which is always a defining factor when it comes to felt-tip liners.
Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara
When you use powder to fill in your eyebrows, gel is a must to keep them in place and avoid any product fallout. This brow gel was recommended to me by an Ulta employee after I was looking for a cheaper alternative to a previous product I’d used and honestly, you can’t beat the price on this one. I’m getting close to then end of my first tube and I will 100% be repurchasing this product!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in “Fair”
If I could only wear one makeup product, it would definitely be concealer. This is in large part due to the fact that I don’t sleep enough, but also, since I’m on the fair side, any darkness under my eyes is significantly worse. I like to use this Maybelline concealer as well as their brightener to get rid of my dark circles and any problem spots that pop up. This concealer also doesn’t dry out my skin or crease under my eyes!
MAC Eyeshadows
Woodwinked – warm antique gold // Naked Lunch – minimal pink with shimmer // Phloof! – frosted off-white // Soft Brown – soft golden peachy-brown
MAC eyeshadows were first introduced into my makeup routine when I was in high school and I’m still a fan! These are some of my tried and true favorites. On the daily, my usual makeup routine consists of putting “Naked Lunch” all over my eyelid and “Phloof!” in the inner corner and (lightly) under the arch of my eyebrow. If it’s a day that I’m shooting photos or going out with friends, I’ll add “Soft Brown” to the crease and include both “Naked Lunch” AND “Woodwinked” on the lid. I usually keep it pretty simple with eye makeup, but love a bronze toned eye look when I’m putting in a bit more effort and looking to add more dimension. Pro tip – if you’re buying and using the same MAC shadows consistently, buy one of the Pro Palette Eye Shadow Compacts and the shadows in “pan” form instead of in the plastic casing. This saves space, cost, and decreases the amount of plastic you use!
Rimmel Clear Stay Glossy Lip Gloss
I always carry this gloss with me for a bit of extra shine on top of whatever lip color I’m wearing for the day. The formula on this gloss is great because it’s not too sticky, so you’re much more comfortable after applying it than most glosses. It also doesn’t take off the color you’re wearing underneath when applied.
L’Occitane Fruity Perfecting Balm
This balm that changes color based on your skin’s pH! It changes to the the “perfect” pink tone for your lips. Honestly, I’m less into it for the color and more into the hydration and scent! I put it on first thing in the a.m. before putting on any of my other makeup to prep my lips for any of the product I may wear that day and to keep them moisturized.
Laura Geller Dewdreamer Illuminating Drops in “Ballerina”
The liquid illuminator adds a warm finishing glow to any look! My biggest suggestion though? Use it sparingly!!! A little goes a long way and application can be a bit messy if you use too much, but the glow is worth it. I don’t use these drops every day, just when I’m putting on more of a full-face of makeup. I absolutely love this color in particular due to the bronze glow it provides!
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Powder Duo in Soft Brown in “Warm Medium Brown”
This brow powder is one of my key essentials. I’ve been using it for 3-4 years and I’m still a fan! I was introduced to the product as part of a brow palette and stencil set that Anastasia used to make. Since then, I’ve transitioned into using just the powder compact on its own and I mix the two colors together to get the right tone for my hair color.
Chloé Eau de Parfum
Chloe has been my signature scent for a while now and I’ve gone through multiple rollerballs and a few bottles of the perfume over the last few years! I featured it in my August Favorites video back in 2016 and it’s still my go-to scent on the daily. When it comes to notes, the top are pink peony, freesia, and lychee. Middle notes include magnolia flower, lily of the valley, rose. Then the base notes feature cedarwood, amber, and honey. All these notes blend to create a sophisticated, feminine scent that I absolutely love!
NYX Professional Makeup HD Studio Finishing Powder (specifically the loose version)
This powder is another one of my longer-term essentials! You really can’t beat the price here and I’ve never experienced any powder flashback when using this product. I use this to set my makeup and decease any oily shine that shows up as the day goes on. I’ve also tried out the pan form of this product, but I’ve found that the loose powder lasts significantly longer and you also don’t have to worry about the product shattering and making a mess.
Diorskin Nude Luminizer Shimmering Glow Powder in “01 Nude Glow” – cool gold iridescent sheen
My Aunt Mary gave me this highlighter to try out a few months ago and as the warmer weather has rolled around it’s been great to add a natural, warm highlight to my everyday look. It also works well as a buildable highlight on top of the illuminating drops I mentioned above!
NARS Blush in “Torrid” – coral with shimmer
This peachy coral blush is my go-to in the warmer months! Coral and green are on opposite ends of the color wheel, so as someone with hazel eyes, I’m especially a fan. A little goes a long way with this blush and it’s buildable without coming off in a clown-like manner, as many blushes can.
I hope that you enjoyed my everyday beauty favorites! I always love trying out new products, so if you have any personal favorites that you swear by I’d love to hear about them! As always, don’t hesitate to reach out via DM on any of my social accounts or email me!
