It’s the holiday season and parties, family gatherings and special events are in full swing! Between seasonal shenanigans with my family, going out to dinner to catch up with friends who are in town visiting and holiday blog events, I end up needing quite a few holiday outfits. I’m always looking for easy ways to switch up my wardrobe without buying a bunch of new clothes and elevated hair accessories are one of my favorite, cost-effective ways to accomplish this.
For example, adding a trendy pearl headband (like the one I’m wearing at the bottom of this post) can make a basic pair of jeans and sweater look instantly elevated! I also love the barrette trend that’s been popping up everywhere this past year. There are so many great hair accessories out there right now to choose from and they’re a great way to switch up any look.
Below, I’ve curated a collection of some of my favorite elevated hair accessories on the market right now! The ones that I selected won’t cost you an arm and a leg, but they act as the perfect finishing touch to make any outfit look like a million bucks!
Headbands
Headbands give me all of the Blair Waldorf vibes. (Where are my Gossip Girl fans?!?) I’m a major headband lover and I had quite the collection back when I was in high school. I am so happy that they’re more popular again and there are so many great options available right now! I just bought this set of five pearl headbands for myself they were only $10.
Barrettes
I think that this trend is SO fun! 2019 was a big year for barrettes and everyone and their mother started wearing them again. By this point, we’ve all seen the double pearl or tortoiseshell clip look on celebrities and bloggers. I typically wear my hair clips and barrettes at the back of my head for functionality, to hold my hair back, but the whole double clip look is so fun and I need to try it out soon. This jeweled set is currently on my wish list!
Scrunchies & Ponytail Holders
We’ve all had one of those days where we don’t want to put any effort into our hair, so it ends up in a ponytail. High ponies are my go-to style when I’m a bit further into the week and almost need to wash my hair or when I know I’ve got a busy day ahead of me. It’s an easy no nonsense solution that just gets my hair out of my face! They can also be a great option for when I have a dress or top with a fun back that I don’t want covered up.
However, just because it’s an easy style doesn’t mean that it can’t be elevated and fun! By adding a cute hair tie, any ponytail can be taken from lazy to luxe. I have these velvet bow hair ties from J.Crew (in three colors) and I LOVE them! I’m also going to be snagging this cute gold-toned holder for myself before Christmas rolls around.
