Hey loves, I hope you’re all having a great week so far! It has been SO incredibly gloomy in Chicago recently. It’s been a WEEK here in the city since we’ve had sunshine… This is the longest, cloudiest streak we’ve had in over 22 years! And yes, it is ABSOLUTELY getting to me. I miss the glow and warmth of sunshine.
That being said, in today’s blog post I’ll be sharing some of my personal favorite products to achieve a nice and natural glow during the winter months as well as moving into spring and summer! Especially at a time like this, I’m not getting any assistance with my glow from the sun… So these products come in handy!

GoGlow Tan *
As someone who was on dance team in high school, I had SO many friends who consistently got spray tans. That being said, I saw way too many orange-tinted, Oompa Loompa spray tans! To be honest, that really turned me off from the idea of ever getting one… Especially as someone with a more pale, Irish complexion!
After being a bit hesitant but also wanting to try it out for myself for a while, I had my very first spray tan experience this winter with goGLOW here in Chicago! (They were generous enough to invite me in to try out a glow from them when they learned I’d never had a spray tan before!) And… I LOVED it! The gal who did mine was great about walking me through the whole experience. Also, they spray by hand, not machine, so you know the tan is going to be even and not patchy or weirdly overdone in spots. The whole process was quick, easy, private and incredibly positive!
When it came to upkeep, I was super cautious about maintaining mine and following their instructions. Mine visibly lasted almost two weeks! I’ll definitely be going back to goGLOW prior to any important, photo-heavy events in the coming months. HIGHLY recommend!
Pixi Glow Mist *
I got this setting mist from Pixi Beauty as part of a press package, so I thought I’d try it out! I’d just run out of my usual setting spray, so the timing was also perfect. I’ve found in the past that a lot of setting sprays can dull the glow of highlighters or overly mattify the face when that’s not something it’s advertised as doing. This spray sets my makeup nicely while leaving the perfect glow behind and it smells good too!
Laura Geller DewDreamer Drops
I got this product from my friend, Allie, and I love it in moderation for the cheekbones! I have the “Ballerina” color and a little goes a LONG way! It’s definitely on the sparkly side and can be a little much if you overdo it. All good things in moderation!
Pixi “The Layers” Highlighting Palette *
This palette was from a collaboration that Pixi did with a few different beauty influencers. The shade “Lace” in upper lefthand corner is my favorite. It works wonderfully as a general highlight for the face as well as for the inner corners of the eye for an extra pop.
Flesh Beauty Highlighting Balm in “Pinky”
My friend, Meghan, first introduced me to this product! I love the format because it’s easy to bring on-the-go since it’s small in size and not as messy as a powder. I use this on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and on my cupids bow above my lips. Since it’s a stick formula, it is a bit tacky/wet after it’s applied. So, I usually set it with a powder highlighter. My current favorite powder to pair with it is the DiorSkin highlighter I mention further down in this post!
Winky Lux Strobing Balm in “Rose Gold” *
I got this product in a goody bag when Windy Lux had a pop up shop in Chicago! I’m almost out of the sample size I got and it has lasted for SO long! I have it in “Rose Gold” and plan on repurchasing it once I run out.
Bareminerals “Faux Tan” Bronzer
I used to dislike a lot of bronzers because on my complexion they can look really muddy if you don’t have the right shade and sheen! I had the chance to try out this “faux tan” bronzer from Bareminerals as part of a holiday palette and I love it! It’s great for overall natural color and easily build-able for more specific contouring as well.
If you’re interested in trying the color, but don’t want to commit to the full product, the holiday palette is on sale right now for $15!
DiorSkin Nude Powder Luminizer in “Peach Delight 007”
This is probably one of my favorite products within this post! Unfortunately, the color that I’ve been loving was a limited edition shade, “Peach Delight 007”. However, the permanent product is available in a bunch of colors! I really like the “Nude Glow 001” shade too and own that as well.
If you’re interested in a similar product AND color, the next best thing according to the Temptalia website is this 90% dupe by Dose Of Colors in the shade “Melonade.”

Wayne Goss 24S Large Fan Brush
My Aunt Mary is the makeup brush QUEEN! I’ve gotten a lot of my makeup products and tools from her over the years and I received this Wayne Goss large fan brush from her a few months back. I use it primarily for powder highlighters and it’s super soft!
Laura Mercier Finishing Pony Tail Brush
This Laura Mercier brush is great for eyeshadow, but I personally use it for detailing & contouring with bronzer. I like to use this for around the nose, lips, and the crease of the eye. It’s super soft an multi-functional. It could also be used for highlighter in smaller sections of the face.
Laura Mercier Cheek Colour Brush
This brush is what I use for overall color and bronzer. It’s large enough that it can be used in a general sense, but also can fit nicely under the cheekbones and for basic contouring.
What are some of your favorite products for achieving a natural glow when the sun goes away? Seriously, I need them right now!
*For full disclosure: please note that these products were received as part of media/press gifting. However, these brands/products are not sponsors of today’s post and did not ask to be included in my selections. All of these items were selected based on my own personal preferences and experiences.
