Happy Friday, friends! I hope that you’re all doing well. It’s officially feeling like fall here in Chicago, so I figured that it was a good time to check in. I also was hosted by Chicago Electric Boat Company this weekend, so I wanted to share that experience with all of you! Please enjoy the latest edition of Friday Five.
1. Cruising with Chicago Electric Boat Company
This weekend I had the pleasure of cruising down the Chicago River with a few friends in one of Chicago Electric Boat Company’s luxury duffy boats! Our boat was named Sweet Caroline and we got to cruise for two hours on the river, courtesy of CEBC! My boyfriend was captain of our boat and the rest of us indulged in some mimosas while we all took in the skyline and sights. CEBC also has options where you can hire a guide for your cruise if you want a guided tour or if you don’t want someone in your party to be in charge of driving the boat!
A huge thank you to Chicago Electric Boat Company for hosting us. We had such a great time! You can check out all their offerings on their website, linked here. ALSO, this Saturday (tomorrow, 10/17/2020) CEBC is partnering with Firecakes donuts to celebrate their first season of donut boats! If you book a cruise at the Rockwell on the River location that day you’ll get a free half dozen donuts. You can also use the code “DonutsandDonuts” when booking to get $25 off of your cruise!
2. My New Favorite Self-Tanner
Full disclosure, I never thought that I’d be a self-tanner or faux tan fan. BUT after getting my first spray tan back in January I got kinda hooked to the glow! I’ve tried a few different self tan products, but I have to say that St. Tropez has DEFINITELY been my fave so far. I usually hate the scent of self tanner, but this one doesn’t bother me at all. (There’s really not much of a scent at all.) I put mine on about once a week before bed and then rinse off the next morning after 8+ hours of letting the tan set. I can’t recommend this stuff enough, but definitely use a mitt when applying!!!
3. Apartment Upgrading
As I’ve settled into my apartment after moving in June, I’ve been adding more and more little touches to make it feel homier. My aunt bought my a cute velvet bench for my entryway, I just updated my closet a bit by adding a new rug and storage bins and I’m patiently waiting for the contact paper for my kitchen counters to get here. I’m transforming the boring black counters look like white marble! This is the first space that I’ve ever put quite this much thought into and I’m loving the process so far. I’ll be sharing photos in the #BowtifulAbode hashtag on Instagram as well as on here, so stay tuned.
4. Boots from Target
Last year I got my first pair of chelsea boots from Target and I fell in LOVE with them! I wore them to death, so I ended up purchasing a new pair this year. In addition to an updated pair of chelsea boots, I also ordered some new over-the-knee boots and snake print booties. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well they’re all made, they’re super affordable and they run true to size.
5. My Favorite Fall Candle
If you’re looking for a great fall candle, look no further! This Oak & Cider candle is my absolute favorite right now. I’ve actually already ordered a second one after burning through the first… It’s that good.
I hope that you all have an absolutely wonderful weekend!
