Hey loves, happy Thursday! It’s a new month, so that means that it’s time for a brand new Bowtiful Wallpaper! I gave this month’s wallpaper a blush theme for Valentine’s Day and featured the quote:
“do it from love, not for love”
I think this phrase is important, especially as we come upon Valentine’s Day, because it emphasizes approaching situations and relationships with genuine and honest intentions vs. focusing on a potential end result.
Relationships and dating can be difficult! (That’s certainly an understatement.) Over the years, I’ve definitely had situations where I’ve found myself casually seeing people and then struggling to decide if that someone was truly the person I was supposed to be seeing at that point in time. I would have to ask myself questions like, “is this truly the right person, or does it just feel right to have a person?” Based on past conversations with friends, I know that I’m not alone in having felt this way before.
To me, the quote “do it from love, not for love” is a reminder to let your actions be motivated by love rather than seeing the opportunity to gain love as a potential end result of your actions.
All that said, I’m very lucky to be in a wonderful and loving relationship at this point in my life! I can truthfully say it’s one that has been built on and continues to grow through actions that come from love. And for that, I’m very grateful.
